Are you passionate about the outdoors and enjoy fostering a love of nature in young children?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our team as an Assistant Forest School Teacher for our program serving children ages 3-10.
About the Position:
This part-time position is for Wednesday’s from 8:30am-4pm and every other Saturday from 8am-111am. You will work alongside the Lead Forest School Teacher to provide a safe and engaging learning environment for children in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the daily set-up and breakdown of the forest school space.
Provide emotional support to children.
Participate in free play activities and encourage exploration and discovery in the natural world.
Assist the Lead Teacher in facilitating nature-based activities.
Ensure the safety of all children by supervising their play and activities.
Maintain a positive and encouraging attitude throughout the program.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children in a childcare, camp, or educational setting (preferred).
CPR and First Aid certifications (preferred).
A genuine passion for the outdoors and environmental education.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with children of various ages and backgrounds.
Positive and energetic personality with a love of learning.
Ability to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Comfort with getting dirty and engaging in outdoor activities in all weather conditions.
